One would think a relative unknown with a short record wouldn't have marks on that record already. Yeesh. And yeesh. Nobody is perfect, but be careful if you crusade for reform . . .

The guy sounds like a terrible guy. However, a smart woman *distances* herself from something in which she is personally involved, follows the process, and then promotes process change. This approach was not smart.

A family member of mine works in a public position. I have been awed by his ability to stay above board and affect change for the positive while maintaining both propriety AND the appearance of propriety. She admits that she at least missed the boat on the latter.

you are right. And she was a big woman to admit she missed the boat :)

We all make mistakes as people, no matter what our job, and it takes a big person to admit when they have done wrong too.

But of course I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Palin fan!

I wish she would have admitted it sooner -- before she had to. _Then_ she could have been a real role model.
