I want to quit talking about this election, I really do -- I think it's already cost me a couple friends and I know it's cost me readers.

But Sarah makes me:

""Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin said of Obama, also calling him an embarrassment.""

See, there's this whole "false witness" thing. She's said it's time for the gloves to come off -- maybe she thinks commandments are for losers.

She isn't bearing false witness or lying at all. His name is William Ayers and he is an unrepentant domestic terrorist who regrets not doing more

oh, I wanted to add, I've really enjoyed your perspective and debate and have reconsidered some things and appreciate your pov

Erin, it is. The "connection" has been extensively investigated, and "palling around" doesn't remotely represent the truth. Further, the use of the present tense is extraordinarily problematic. Should we indict Ayers's whole University as pro-terrorism?! I think not. Finally, the implication of "terrorist" at the moment is Islamic extremist and the most ready example 9-11. She knows this full well when she uses the language she uses.

She knows it's false, and God knows it's false.

It's patriotic to blog your politics! And I, of course, love your political posts!! (I notice my feedreader subscribers go up and down with my political posts!)

Ayers, Jan. 2004:

"I’ve thought about this a lot. Being almost 60, it’s impossible to not have lots and lots of regrets about lots and lots of things, but the question of did we do something that was horrendous, awful? ... I don’t think so. I think what we did was to respond to a situation that was unconscionable."

They do pal around. Dinners, announcing his campaign at his home, etc... And as far as I'm concerned terrorism isn't just Islamic in nature, and it isn't just Islamic to the American people also (although he has ties to Islamic terrorists also)

I in no way think that Obama supports terrorism. I just think that he really approves of the politics of Ayers.

And he doesn't regret his terrorism even according to the quote you posted. He was responding to a situation that was unconscionable, fine. Peaceful protest are awesome, and Vietnam was very VERY wrong. However he wasn't peaceful, he was bombing buildings and trying to kill people! Is that a justified response to war? I think not. He has yet to repent of his actions, and for that he needs to be judged accordingly.

Please read the article Palin knowingly mischaracterizes -- that is, if she actually did read the New York Times. The very article she refers to suggests other than what she claims it to indicate.

She indicated in the speech that this indicates a change in *tactic* for the campaign. Telling the truth isn't a tactic.

no telling the truth isn't a tactic, but exposing and highlighting the truth can be! And that is what she is doing. People need to be aware of Obamas terrorist friends, and yes I used a plural. Lets not forget Rashid Khalidi.

Once again, I don't think Obama has terrorist leanings, I think he has sympathy for their Anti-Americanism. He has surrounded himself with people who HATE America, and that is scary stuff
