Next thing you know they'll be telling us the earth is really super-old and carbon-dating matters and science is real and stuff, but only if that's what voters want to hear.

Flip, meet Flop.

But this is far scarier:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, "Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God." Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don't know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

"“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.” "

Those were her exact words if you cut them out of the middle of the statement. She was praying that we work or stay within Gods will. Shouldn't we be praying that?

Not in my understanding, no.

We should be praying for God's will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven. That is not how understand this.

Anytime someone prays _that_ they are on a mission from God (after the mission has begun) they risk missing any information to the contrary.

I think we are intrepreting her prayer differently :) I think she is asking that we try and be on Gods mission, not that he bless the mission that we are on.

This woman frightens me.

Ditto, overwhelmed. Her heart *may* be in the right place but her lack of experience (especially in the foreign arena) is frightening. Alaska is next to Russia? Wow...

ummm.... once again:
Media- one side of story-- and short 8 second bites that makes it easy for public to understand-- unfortunately causes more confusion.
