Dh has been able to call twice, but only for three minutes each time. He called first to say he had arrived safely, and that Ethiopia was beautiful and the people very gracious. The second time he called to let us know that I., though initially very hesitant (she was aware he was coming to change her life, he says) is beginning to accept him (though in what capacity we're not quite sure).
We miss them terribly.

Very great to hear! Send well wishes to your dh and his friend- be sure he knows many many people are wishing him and crew safe journeys.
ps- did he take the camera??
How great your hubby was able to travel, and spend this special time with your daughter. Tho I am sure you miss him (and her!) very much. Looking forward to hearing more.
I am so glad you are keeping us updated. Each update I imagine that may be what it will be like for us when the time comes, depending on who travels. Keep the updates coming :)
